I am a future elementary teacher and I am just beginning my
professional sequence program. Because children's books can be so
expensive, I have decided to start building my future classroom
library now. I was wondering if there are current teachers, college
students already in classrooms or people student teaching that had any
suggestions of good educational books to add to my book wish list? Or
is there anyone who would be willing to share their favorite book(s)
as a child? I am looking for books aimed at the Kindergarten - 2nd
grade age group. Thank you for your help!!

I had a few, but only one comes to mind directly. "I'll love you forever"
is a good book about a woman as she raises her son. Biblio-theorapy books
are likely the best suggestions. Books that help a child cope with ideas and
situations (ie: death, new sibling, divorce, remarriage, natural disaster,
ect)

Thank you for your suggestion! I have read "I'll Love You Forever"
and it is a great book. I agree that books that help children with
tough issues are a great tool and resource for the classroom. Thank
you for your help!
